The Bump – September 19th

NXT Takeover 31, Mandy Rose, Jon Moxley and Clash of Champions Card

Welcome to Saturday’s edition of The Bump! Yesterday, we talked about the new WWE authority figure, Kevin Owens as the new leader of Retribution, Asuka and Vega, and Covid-19 Testing in WWE and AEW. Make sure you are reading us every day. Let The Bump get you completely up to date.

The Bump: NXT Takeover 31 Date Set?

WWE confirmed that Sunday, October 4th will be the date for the next NXT TakeOver event. It will be taking place one week after WWE PPV Clash of Champions.

Plans for Mandy Rose on Raw?

The short answer…no…none. So I think the follow-up question has to be why? According to Ringside News, “they needed roster depth on the red brand, but there is no place for the Golden Goddess to fit in yet.” Well, YES there is. How about as Asuka’s opponent at Clash of Champions? I mean at least she has been in the ring for the last couple months and fans are aware of her storyline with Sonya Deville. This makes way more sense than Zelina Vega.

Yes, I understand many of you are upset that Mandy Rose and Otis are on different brands. Some of you have been blasting WWE for putting a couple on different brands. Well number one everyone, they aren’t traveling. All wrestlers are performing in Orlando. No couples are technically apart. However number two, they AREN’T a REAL couple. It was a storyline. An awful storyline at that. It has run its course and hopefully will just go away now…soon.

Jon Moxley Will Be at Josh Alexander’s Bloodsport Show

According to Josh Alexander’s tweet, Bloodsport just got a huge AEW name confirmed for the show. Jon Moxley will compete at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport. He had already gotten Impact Wrestling’s Deonna Purrazzo on the women’s side that week.

Moxley was originally set to headline the second installment against Barnett until he had to withdrawal due to staph infection. We don’t know if Moxley will be facing Josh Barnett at the show or not. I can’t wait to see who Alexander gets next for the October 11th show. It’s going to be a good one.
