The Bump – October 4th News & Updates

AEW/NJPW Partnership, Victory Road Results, Eric Bischoff and Sasha Banks’ Message

Welcome to Sunday’s edition of The Bump, the place we keep you in the know about the world of pro wrestling. Yesterday, we talked about Stephanie McMahon saying they have kept the fans in mind, NXT Moving to WWE Performance Center, NWA Powerrr coming back, and WWE taking over Wrestlers’ Twitch accounts in four weeks. Now let The Bump get you completely up to date about today’s news.

AEW and NJPW Partnership Is Looking Better Now

Many believe this partnership will get completed very quickly. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NJPW talent didn’t have the best view of Harold Meij’s business sense when it came to pro wrestling. He made a lot of money outside of the pro wrestling business, but everything changes in this world. With him leaving, it opens the doors to AEW stars like Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Cody, FTR, and Miro to go over and compete in New Japan. All of their contracts allow it as long as it doesn’t interfere with AEW programming or take place in the United States.

Impact Wrestling’s Victory Road Results

Here are the results:

  • The Rascalz defeated XXXL.
  • Brian Myers beat Tommy Dreamer.
  • Willie Mack defeated X Division Champion Rohit Raju, but Raju retained the title due to losing by countout.
  • Tenille Dashwood overcame Jordynne Grace.
  • Heath and Rhino beat Reno Scum.
  • Trey Miguel defeated Moose.
  • Josh Alexander overcame Alex Shelley, Ace Austin, and Karl Anderson.
  • Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Susie.
  • Impact Heavyweight Champion Eric Young beat Eddie Edwards.

Eric Bischoff Believes a Live Fans Scenario May Have Less Energy Than ThunderDome

The Florida Governor earlier this week stated that Florida was going to allow restaurants and other buildings to go back to 100% capacity and for people not to wear masks if they don’t want to wear them.

However, on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff said, “I’m going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. If WWE shoots outdoors and they are able to put enough people into whatever venue they are looking at so that you feel that energy, then I think it’s a good alternative. My fear is that if they have to social distance, keep everybody apart, everybody has to wear a mask and all the other things that could happen, I think the outdoor venue may provide less energy than the ThunderDome.”

It Isn’t About The Women’s Smackdown Championship Anymore

On Talking Smack, Sasha Banks gave Bayley a message that it was about HER now, not the Smackdown title anymore. She said,  “After all of these years, all of these years of friendship, I knew you before you even got signed, I felt your energy. I believed in you before anybody else did and I know that you believed in me. So you can use me all you want, but I need to remind you that you’re absolutely nothing without me. You try to end my career, you try to end me because you know that you cannot beat me. So come next week, Bayley, forget about the title, it’s not even about that. I’m coming to end you.”
