Kenny Omega: Big Announcement Was A Big Disappointment

After his incredibly successful appearance on Tuesday night’s Impact Wrestling, Kenny Omega had promised a big announcement for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and I, for one, couldn’t wait.

What would The Cleaner be about to reveal to the wrestling world?

Would he be heading off to pastures new?

Is he going to be touring the world in a quest for gold?

Would he be defending the title against three midgets and a drag queen?

Nobody seemed to know, so diligently tuning into the show, we awaited the answer with bated breath.

And we got bupkis.

Kenny Omega and Don Callis

Both Kenny Omega and Don Callis arrived in style at the arena, buzzing in via helicopter. When they made their way out to the ring, it was quite an epic version of his entrance theme. Meaning that we expected something quite earth-shattering to follow this pomp and circumstance. Or at least I did.

What we got instead was pretty much a rehash of the previous night’s interview.

Callis boasted about how he had changed the face of wrestling, once again, and blah, blah, blah. Then Kenny got on the mic and cut quite an interesting promo on Jon Moxley. He also started taking shots at any wrestler who uses his position to get his friends hired. That must have had Grandpa Hogan wondering if there was any way he could bury him from the comfort of his own sofa.

Callis In Control

Then just as Omega was about to tell us what his huge secret was. Callis cut him off. He claimed we couldn’t handle the news.

This just pissed me off.

Gray’s Dissection Of The Situation

I hate this sort of crap. I get it, Omega is in full heel form. He should do everything in his power to troll the fans, but if you’ve got something to say then say it. Don’t drag it out, so we have to chase you around from show to show like a dog chasing its tail. Sooner rather than later we’re going to get bored.

I guess we’ll have to wait at least another week to find out what The Best Bout Machine has planned. I just hope that AEW don’t hold off on this. If you do it for too long then people might just start switching channels when he appears.

Were you disappointed with Kenny Omega? Are you angry with Don Callis? Should the announcement be made on AEW or Impact Wrestling? Let us know in the comments below.
