Jonathan Gresham Says All Roads Lead To Terminus

‘The Foundation’ Leader Announces a New Promotion

All Roads Lead to Terminus…

So says ‘The Octopus’ Jonathan Gresham, who announced the new promotion on social media today via a very intriguing, very professional video.

According to Last Word on Sports, Terminus is set to be a project co-promoted by Gresham and Baron Black, who you may know from Championship Wrestling from Atlanta and from AEW. Last Word on Sports revealed that they had spoken to Black, who told them that they would be revealing information on the roster, streaming options, and where to purchase tickets from next week.

The promotional video didn’t reveal much other than to suggest the promotion will debut in Atlanta on January 16th, 2022. Gresham, of course, is a resident of Atlanta, and Baron Black has previously trained in the area as well as currently wrestling for the United Wrestling Network in the area.

What the video did show was some moody shots of Atlanta in the evening, with glimpses of wrestling talent superimposed over the top. It also featured the tagline ‘Modern Day Grappling.’ Could this be the next step in the development of pure wrestling? Taking the groundwork laid down by Ring of Honor and bringing it even further into the modern-day wrestling mainstream? Time will tell, of course, but a promotion devoted to cutting-edge pure wrestling would be a very, very exciting thing indeed.

As is well publicized, Ring of Honor is taking a hiatus as they look to reinvent themselves, and in the process, they released (or decided that they wouldn’t be renewing) pretty much the entire roster from their contracts. There was much speculation as to where Jonathan Gresham would be going as not only is he arguably one of the best wrestlers in the world right now but he’s been a cornerstone of Ring of Honor over the last year, holding the company’s Pure Title for an incredible 317 days. There was speculation that Gresham was heading instead into a chase for the ROH Heavyweight title, which still seems to be the plan after Gresham’s win over Brody King at Honor For All sets him up for a crack at Bandido’s belt.

But with the announcement of the ROH hiatus, there was a lot of talk of whether ‘The Octopus’ would become All Elite, or join his wife in Impact for that matter. But if Terminus will allow Jonathan Gresham an opportunity to fulfill his vision of what pro wrestling really is and can be, then this could be a very shrewd, very fulfilling move for the former Pure champion.

The future is still very much all to play for.
