The Bodega: Open For BUSINESS!

Regular readers will know of my passion and enthusiasm for the wrestling skills of a certain Mr. Danny Limelight Rivera. One of the most talented wrestlers working in America whilst not signed to a major promotion, it’s been a long time coming for Limelight to claim some wrestling gold.

So you can imagine how happy I am to be finally able to say that such a time has finally arrived! The Bodega is truly OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

A marriage of pure speed and strength, the combination of Danny Limelight and the ‘King Fat Boy’ Papo Esco, teaming together as The Bodega, has been putting the tag team division across the United Wrestling Network and Championship Wrestling from Hollywood on notice. This past Saturday, December 12th, The Bodega finally got their shot at the gatekeepers of the gold, then-UWN Tag Team Champions So-Cal Distancing (Dom Kubrick and Andy Brown, employing the ‘Freebird’ rule and letting Adrian Quest sit this one out).

Typical of the sly, sinister pair, Brown and Kubrick played underhand to attempt to keep their grasp on their title belts, with Andy Brown kicking the ref in the head to prevent Danny Limelight from getting the pinfall. This time, though, it wouldn’t do So-Cal Distancing any good. The lights went off in the studio and when they came back on, Ray Rosas, who has had So-Cal Distancing be a major thorn in his side since the relaunch of the Championship Wrestling From Hollywood TV show in September, appeared as a referee to prevent any kind of cheap finish occurring. Miguel ran out to even up the sides for So-Cal Distancing but Kevin Martenson appeared from out of nowhere and helped Rosas to repel the big guy’s attack. The Mystery Leader then appeared with his trusty crowbar and was about to strike until Slice Boogie came out to physically show his respect for The Bodega by snatching the crowbar and smashing Andy Brown with it, leading Danny Limelight to make the decisive cover for the pinfall victory and NEW champions!

I’m not sure about you, but me? I’m very excited to see where The Bodega goes from here. Who’s going to be the first team to step up to The Bodega; the place where you can get anything you need—including a beatdown!
