NXT 2.0 Spring Breakin’ Predictions

Predicting results for NXT 2.0 Spring Breakin

NXT 2.0 is set to put on their latest special tonight with Spring Breakin’ coming to us live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. The special event will air in NXT’s usual 8PM EST time slot on the USA Network. Five matches have been announced for the show, including two championship showdowns.

Before the show gets started, we gathered some predictions from our very own Jon Shartzer, Joel Kananen and Jeremy Thomas. Read ahead and see if you agree with us and then come back after the show to see how we did!

Let’s get onto it.

Bron Breakker vs Joe Gacy

Bron Breakker vs. Joe Gacy for the NXT Championship

Jon: I’m having a hard time getting into this story. It just doesn’t feel like Gacy is on the same level as Breakker. With Hardland now out of the picture, what does that mean for Gacy going forward? Either way, it won’t be as champion. Bron retains and moves on to his next challenger.

Joel: The only way Joe Gacy will get his hands on the NXT belt is if he literally murders Bron and absconds into the night, muttering cringe-speak under his piercing blue eyes.

Prediction: Bron Breakker

Jeremy: Joe Gacy kidnapped Bron Breakker’s father Rick Steiner to set up this championship match. Gacy simply isn’t on the same level as Breakker and I don’t see any way that Gacy wins this match.

Prediction: Bron Breakker

Triple Threat NXT North American title match

Cameron Grimes vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American Championship

Jon: This should be the match of the night on a fairly weak card. All three of these guys seem to have excellent chemistry together, which should result in some fireworks for the fans. It took Grimes forever to get this title reign and it’s way too early to end it already. Sikoa will have the belt one day, but not yet. Melo needs to enter the NXT championship picture. Cameron Grimes retains.

Prediction: Cameron Grimes

Joel: Grimes is extremely over, with or without a championship, so a title change could be in the cards here. Hayes should be the next feud for Breakker and the big belt, so I don’t see him winning. I think WWE is very high on Solo Sikoa, so this could be a good opportunity for him to take a step forward with a title victory.

Prediction: Solo Sikoa

Jeremy: Grimes has done a magnificent job in promos, telling the story of how his late father would have been beaming with pride at his winning the NXT North American championship. The fans have been behind his run and I don’t believe that his run will end quite yet.

Prediction: Cameron Grimes

Natalya and Lash Legend vs. Cora Jade and Nikkita Lyons

Natalya & Lash Legend vs Cora Jade & Nikita Lyons

Jon: I’ll be honest, this match feels unnecessary and poorly booked. Natalya isn’t needed here and the teams don’t really make sense. The “NXT universe” is certainly behind Nikkita Lyons, however and WWE brass are high on Cora Jade.  They stand out as the most likely victors to me. Natty is there to direct traffic and Lash is there to eat the pin.

Prediction: Cora Jade and Nikkita Lyons

Joel: Cora Jade seems primed to be a major player for NXT, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to put her over Natalya in a singles match, eventually. Before that, it seems like Legend will get her win back from Lyons, with help from Natalya.

Prediction: Natalya and Lash Legend

Jeremy: This match was set up when Natalya showed up on NXT 2.0 a few weeks ago during a Cora Jade promo. The crowd and Cora Jade gave Nattie a roaring round of adulation until she viciously attacked Cora Jade in the ring. Natalya then interfered in a match between Lyons and Legend to make this a tag team affair. Jade and Lyons are the future of the NXT division. I believe that they will win this match since I don’t think that Natalya will be regularly appearing on NXT 2.0 after this event.

Prediction: Cora Jade and Nikkita Lyons

The Creed Brothers vs The Viking Raiders

The Creed Brothers vs. The Viking Raiders

Jon: This is one of those matches that you didn’t know you needed until it was a thing. When the War Raiders were in NXT, they were among the best in the business. They still are, but haven’t exactly been presented as such after being called up a few years ago. Hopefully this match will help recreate some of that previous magic.

The Creed Brother’s are a tandem that is quickly on the rise and many were surprised that they didn’t become tag team champions after MSK vacated the titles. I think it’s a little early still for them to knock off such an experienced team, but Brutus and Julius are said to be favorites of Vince and that means anything can happen, including an upset over Erik and Ivar. I can definitely see it happening.

Prediction: The Creed Brothers

Joel: I’m pretty excited to see these four brutes beat the heck out of each other. The Creed Bros have shown a lot of promise in the ring and a victory over the former tag team champions would be a good step forward.

Prediction: The Creed Brothers

Jeremy: Erik and Ivar, the former NXT Tag Team champions, have returned to NXT to challenge the Creed Brothers. Everyone thought that the Creed Brothers would be the champions by now  but they have come up just short at every turn. The Creed Brothers need a win here and should win what I believe will be an exciting battle.

Prediction: The Creed Brothers

Nathan Frazer vs Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller vs. Nathan Frazer

Jon: This is a difficult one to predict, but it could be a surprise candidate for match of the night. There’s not a lot of build leading into this matchup, which makes it hard for a lot of people to care.

Grayson Waller has been one of the poster boys for NXT 2.0 and has the potential to be a star in the future. Frazer is a product of Seth Rollins’ training school and has been making waves across the pond in NXT UK. A loss doesn’t really benefit either one, but somebody has to do the job. I’m going with Waller getting a dirty victory over the NXT mainland newcomer.

Prediction: Grayson Waller

Joel: Frazer is the latest NXT UK staple to transfer across the pond and should be in line for a win over the very effective heel, Waller. Given a good amount of time, this could be a highlight for in-ring action.

Prediction: Nathan Frazer

Jeremy: Waller ruined the debut of Frazer on NXT 2.0 last week with a vicious attack. I’m intrigued by this matchup as it is the hardest one on the card for me to predict. Both of these men would benefit greatly from a victory. If Waller wants to continue to be seen as a legitimate threat, then I think he should come out on top, even if it means that he has to cheat to win.

Prediction: Grayson Waller
