It was only eight days ago we had the AEW Revolution PPV, which was won by yours truly, and here we are just over a week later with a brand new Predictions Showdown, this time for the Elimination Chamber.
But can I pull off another miracle?
Will I manage to swerve the other members of The Wrestling Cabal in a way that Vince Russo will be proud of or will the Power Mad Grevas walkout still ahead, leaving our broken bodies in his wake?
Well, there’s only one way to find out.
Let’s lace up our boots and head to the ring for the Elimination Chamber Predictions Showdown.
Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak
The Flack: I’m under the impression Drew’s being fed to Bryan to re-establish Bryan’s aggressive edge. Either that or they just don’t know what else to do with him. In any case, Bryan for the win.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
Andrew Grevas: Bryan goes over but what happens after is the real question
Winner: Daniel Bryan
Neil Gray: This might seem like a strange call, but unless they have someone show up after the match to beat on D-Bry, then I can see Gulak getting the win here so the G.O.A.T has something to do this Wrestlemania season, such as be on the pre-show of that as well
Winner: Drew Gulak
Conor O’Donnell: Winner: None Picked
No DQ Match: Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles
The Flack: I think AJ will take the pin here with interference from Taker, giving Aleister a boost and confirming the AJ/Taker match at Mania.
Winner: Aleister Black
Andrew Grevas: Really excited about this match. I’m expecting Black to have one of his best showings to date in WWE and even though the win will come with a little help from the lights going out and a loud gong, a win is still a win for Mr. Black.
Winner: Aleister Black
Neil Gray:Â The OC gets involved, the lights go out, Taker beats up everyone, Black gets the win.
Winner: Aleister Black
Conor O’Donnell: Winner: AJ Styles
United States Championship: Andrade vs. Humberto Carrillo
The Flack: Andrade being off TV hasn’t done him any favors, but I think WWE still has big plans for him yet. He won’t lose here.
Winner: Andrade
Andrew Grevas: The title should change hands here, but it won’t. Andrade walks out into Mania as champ.
Winner: Andrade
Neil Gray:Â Humberto couldn’t pick up a win with a 50% off voucher at the moment and Andrade has only just returned from his slap on the wrist, so no title change as far as I can tell.
Winner: Andrade
Conor O’Donnell: Winner: Andrade
RAW Tag-Team Championship: The Street Profits vs. Seth Rollins and Murphy
The Flack: I get the feeling Kevin Owens will try to interfere again, except it will go wrong and Seth and Murphy will reclaim the titles. Expect Seth and Murphy to take on KO and a partner (Joe, if he’s back in time?) for the gold at Mania.
Winners: Seth Rollins And Murphy
Andrew Grevas: Rollins and Murphy walkout as champs in a competitive match, leading to a Mania showdown with Kevin Owens and either Samoa Joe or The Big Show.
Winners: Seth Rollins And Murphy
Neil Gray:Â Logic dictates that the WWE give the belts back to Rollins And Murphy, sensible booking dictates that the Street Profits walkout as champs so they don’t look incapable of holding onto the titles. Let’s go the sensible route.
Winners: Street Profits
Conor O’Donnell: Winners: Seth Rollins And Murphy
Intercontinental Championship 3 On 1 Handicap Match: Braun Strowman vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn
The Flack: Don’t get me wrong: I like Braun. But why does he have to job out three great wrestlers at once to prove how much of a beast he is? Couldn’t he have smashed Corbin, Roode, and Ziggler instead? Braun, depressingly, for the win here.
Winner: Braun Strowman
Andrew Grevas: This makes my heart hurt, knowing that Strowman is about to defeat 3 of the best wrestlers in the world in a handicap match.
Winner: Braun Strowman
Neil Gray:Â Have to agree with my colleagues here, Braun is going over and probably at the expense of Sami Zayn, who will get smashed by the Monster and made to wear a weasel suit.
Winner: Braun Strowman
Conor O’Donnell: Winner: Braun Strowman
Elimination Chamber Match: The Miz and John Morrison vs. The New Day vs. The Usos vs. Heavy Machinery vs. Lucha House Party vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode
The Flack: I was thinking at first that Ziggler and Roode might win to lead to a match with Heavy Machinery at Mania, but they don’t need the titles for that, just Mandy Rose. Expect Miz and Moz to screw over whomever they eliminate last to set up a Mania match.
Winners: The Miz And John Morrison
Andrew Grevas: I don’t see any reason to take the titles off Miz and Morrison heading into the “Showcase of the Immortals”
Winners: The Miz And Jon Morrison
Neil Gray:Â The A-Lister and the Shamen of Sexy will get the 1-2-3 here and, hopefully, set up a feud with The Usos for Wrestlemania, as I’m getting a tad bored of The New Day at the moment.
Winners: The Miz And John Morrison
Conor O’Donnell: Winners: The Miz And John Morrison
Elimination Chamber Match: Natalya vs. Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka vs. Ruby Riott vs. Sarah Logan
The Flack: The result may just be a little more in doubt since Vincey Poo has reportedly got concerns now about Baszler for Mania. But who else is there to go with, really? Baszler will walk out victorious here
Winner: Shayna Baszler
Andrew Grevas: Regardless of the rumors about Vince having cold feet on Baszler, this is her match to win and win big. If anyone wasn’t aware of her star potential already, they will be after this match when she’s standing tall.
Winner: Shayna Baszler
Neil Gray:Â Short of Big Vinny driving a truckload of money onto Ronda Rousey’s lawn, this is the most telegraphed match in recent history.
Winner: Shayna Baszler
Conor O’Donnell: Winner: Shayna Baszler
Final Thoughts
To be honest, I’m not really looking forward to the Elimination Chamber.
This has nothing to do with the fact that I’d rather eat my own face than watch any WWE programming, but more to do with there not really being any match on the card that stands out in my eyes.
I could be wrong and it could turn out to be the show of the year, but the script really writes itself.
Still, you never know, with a couple of swings here and there I could pick up the win again and the table would look a lot different than it does currently.
Andrew Grevas: 16 Points
Conor O’Donnell: 14 Points
Christopher Flackett: 14 Points
Neil Gray: 12 Points
