Empire State Wrestling Returns After 16-Month Hiatus With “Brawlfest”

Empire State Wrestling, the long-standing independent promotion from the New York area, has been affected by the Covid Pandemic, the same as a lot of other promotions. Now, after a 16-month hiatus, the company is returning with “Brawlfest,” to be held on July 31st at Buffalo RiverWorks. Not only will this be the first show ESW has run at RiverSide, a venue that has hosted both NXT and ROH previously, but it will be the first pro wrestling event that that will be open to the general public in the City of Buffalo for the first time since the pandemic began. Exciting news indeed!

Booked for the event are former ESW Heavyweight Champions “The Remix” Kevin Bennett, “Big Time” Bill Collier and “The Patron Saint of Professional Wrestling” Brandon Thurston. There will also be big Empire State Wrestling fan favourites such as ESW Interstate Champion Frankie Feathers, “None of a Kind” Anthony Gaines, “Invincible” Vince Valor and the tag team of To Infinity and Beyond—the team of ex-WWE star Colin Delaney and ex-ROH star Cheech!

Empire State Wrestling also assures us that several of the top independent wrestling stars from around the Northeast U.S. will be at the show and to keep an eye on ESW’s social media pages for talent and matchup announcements in the coming weeks. Not only will you get to see great pro wrestling, but prior to the event, ESW will host its second-ever tailgate party. For $10, fans can get 10 dunk tank throws, which will feature several of ESW’s top villains, plus 25 per cent off all other Buffalo RiverWorks attractions that day such as the ropes course, kayaks, silo climbing and the zip line.

Previous talent who has wrestling for Empire State Wrestling include the cream of the crop of WWE and AEW, including Kevin Owens, Adam Cole, Candice LaRae, MJF, Orange Cassidy and Eddie Kingston. So it’s obvious that the promotion has an eye for great talent.

If you support great independent wrestling, support Empire State Wrestling. If you feel safe to do so and you’re in the Buffalo area, give them a shot.
