The Briscoe Brothers Issue Open Challenge

The Briscoe Brothers- Jay and Mark – have issued an open challenge for their GCW World Tag Team Titles at this coming weekend’s The Wrld On GCW event, set for the Hammerstein Ballroom, January 23rd. In what is already set to be one of the most stacked cards that GCW has ever put on, the addition of The Briscoe Brothers facing anyone who chooses to walk down the aisle for their belts has upped the ante even more.

GCW released the following information on Twitter;

The Briscoes have issued an OPEN CHALLENGE for the GCW World Tag Team Titles next Sunday at #TheWrldOnGCW! Plus: Mox vs 187, Janela vs Cardona Allie vs Ruby, Gresham vs Blake, Team Bandido vs Team Gringo.”

The Hammerstein show is the biggest in GCW history, and they’re not pulling any punches in making sure that the bill is a must-see, with the likes of a returning Jon Moxley defending his GCW World Title against Homicide, and Matt Cardona going up against Joey Janela in what is already my feud of 2022, and now with The Briscoe Brothers offering anyone who wants it a shot, well, there’s only one way that this is going to go down.

Ever since Dem Boys were attacked by FTR at ROH Final Battle, the internet has been abuzz about seeing these tag teams face off. Yet, it hasn’t happened yet. Tony Khan has said that he has an interest in working with The Briscoe Brothers, FTR wants to face The Briscoe Brothers, and Jay and Mark Briscoe have made it clearly obvious that they want to face them, but still, the two teams have yet to lock up. Why not? What could possibly be the reason for what would be one of the hottest rivalries of the year from kicking off? Personally, I think it’s all about timing.

They could’ve just had The Briscoe Brothers show up on a random episode of AEW Dynamite and have them exact their revenge and that would’ve been great, but with this show being such an important watershed moment for GCW, don’t be surprised if FTR answer this challenge and finally go toe-to-toe with the Briscoe Brothers this Sunday.
