Sasha Banks Talks Bayley And Their Future Together

The Sasha Banks/Bayley story was one of the best of the year. At times, it could be the most frustrating one that the WWE has given us in a while. Over two years the company weaved a tale of these BFFs that would see The Hugger turn heel and teased their break-up on more than one occasion. When they finally pulled the trigger on it, it turned out to be worth the wait.

The Bayley Turn

When their attempt to regain their tag titles saw them lose once more to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, Bayley went loco. Then Bayley beat seven shades of s*it out of her best friend and in doing so, set up the feud we’d all been itching for since they started teaming up.

It was one that Sasha Banks would win to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion in the process. That would seem to be the end of that issue, but The Boss might just think otherwise.

The Interview

Sitting down with Charlotte Wilder to discuss The Year Of Sasha Banks, she was asked what the future held for the two and did she think they’d ever be on-screen friends again. Sasha Banks replied:

Knowing WWE, absolutely…We will be best friends, probably by tomorrow. This is WWE. They’ll probably make us get married. Who knows. Maybe next year. It’s WWE.”

She also said that Bayley was her favorite opponent, explaining;

She brings something so different, but at the same time, she makes me so nervous because she’s so good. I’m like, ‘whoa, slow down. I’m the greatest.’…I don’t want to say I’m lowering myself with other people, I just have to go way up and beyond and above when I wrestle her.”

It’s obvious that Banks was joking to a degree when she was discussing what the future held for herself and Bayley, but she ought to be careful. If Big Vinnie Mac hears what she said, there’s a very good chance it’ll be the next program. These two ending up together again…closer than ever.
