Jonathan Gresham Discusses ROH Future

Jonathan Gresham is probably one of the most sought-after free agents in the world at the moment. His pure style and ability to put on five-star matches nearly every time he steps into a ring means that he has been turning heads in every major promotion. Currently, however, Jonathan Gresham has his own plans that revolve around his Terminus promotion and fulfilling his contract with ROH, and it was this latter subject that Jonathan Gresham recently sat down with Metro UK to discuss.

I have to wait until April to find out what Ring of Honor is going to do going forward. Are we going to be contracted to salaries again, or is it gonna be pay-per-appearance? I have a loyalty to Ring of Honor because it changed my life. I was going in a very bad direction for so many years, and me having tunnel vision on Ring of Honor saved my life. I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for Ring of Honor.

To be transparent, what I’m doing right now is fulfilling, but at the end of the day, I need to make money. If one of these places starts knocking, I have to consider it. I have a family, I don’t wanna burn my wife out and lose all the things I’ve acquired over these years, so I have to make money. I’ve lived my dream, I’ve accomplished everything I wanted to do. Now, I have to just go with whatever comes, as long as it works out. I have to do it.”

It can’t be easy for Jonathan Gresham – or indeed for any of the talent – not knowing what ROH plans to do next and even though he feels a loyalty to ROH, there is only so far that will take you before you have to head for pastures new. Do I think that Jonathan Gresham will stick by ROH? Yes, at least for as long as he can, but don’t be surprised if a few months down the line Jonathan Gresham and ROH part ways, permanently.
