FTR Wants To Face The Briscoes

FTR wants to face The Briscoes in what would be a dream match for the ages. Both Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were recently guests on The Wrestling Classic YouTube channel, where they discussed – among other things – the quality of the tag-teams that they had faced, and said that The Briscoes were the only top-level tag team that they hadn’t gone toe-to-toe with yet and that they needed to have this match for posterity.

Dax Harwood said;

We’re, you know, I’m patting myself on the back, or ourselves on the back, but we’re the only team of this generation to work with the greatest tag teams of this generation. There’s nobody else that’s worked with the New Day, American Alpha, DIY, The Usos, ReDragon, Ortiz and Santana, Young Bucks, SCU, The Hardy Boyz, all down the list, there is no other team that has worked with that caliber of tag teams except for us. There is really only one team we have to add to that list sometime, of the greatest teams of this generation, and that’s the Briscoes. It’s got to happen somewhere, and that will complete — that’s something that’s very important to me for our legacy.”

This is one of those moments in wrestling where you find yourself screaming “Yes!” at the top of your lungs when you hear it, while everyone else in the room wonders what has managed to turn you into a hyperactive idiot who is now pinging off the walls.

FTR and The Briscoes are my top two picks for our forthcoming Sports Obsessive’s Top 25 Tag Teams of 2021, so the thought of these two teams actually facing off in a ring fills me with so much joy and happiness I am currently grinning like the Cheshire Cat while writing this.

And if anyone can make my dream match come true, then Tony Khan is your man and I hope – and fully expect – to see FTR and The Briscoes face off in an AEW ring at some point in 2022. Hopefully, for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
