During an exceptional NXT TakeOver: WarGames battle between Team Shotzi and Team Candice, it seemed that after the match that Candice LeRae herself was nursing an injury.
As her team stood in the middle of the first ring, raising their arms in celebration, their leader could only manage to put one fist in the air. LeRae was obviously avoiding using the other.
Triple H Media Call
After the show had wrapped, Triple H held a media call to answer NXT TakeOver: WarGames questions. When he was asked about this, he confirmed that Candice LeRae was hurt. He also said that she may very well have broken her arm.
Candice is getting checked out now, Getting checked, out and getting an x-ray so I don’t have a status update yet on that, but you are correct. It looks like possibly a broken arm. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll see where that goes”
If you saw the match, you’ll know it was a pretty hard-hitting affair. I just re-watched it and I’m struggling to pick out just when it could’ve happened in WarGames. But suffice to say it’s a shame that it did. As everyone involved deserved to walk away from a brilliant fight unscathed.
WarGames Men’s Injuries
It seems that LeRae wasn’t the only one in the wars (puns, I’ve got them) during last night’s show. As it’s also being reported that Oney Lorcan, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly picked up a variety of knocks and lacerations in the WarGames Main Event. There’s still no information on exactly what each one is suffering from.
There is also no timeline on how long any of the wrestlers will be out for. Though if Candice LeRae’s injury is a serious as it sounds you should expect her to be sidelined for quite a while. As soon as there’s more news on how serious the injury is Sports Obsessive will bring it to you.
