AEW has announced what can only be described as a loaded card for its TBS debut next week. This shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise as AEW Dynamite moving from TNT to TBS is a very important step in the companies fledgling history – after all, they’ve not even turned three years old yet – and it seems that AEW has decided that for their first outing they are going to go hard, or go home.
The lineup currently stands as follows;
AEW World Title Match: Adam Page vs Bryan Danielson
AEW Tag Team Title Match: Lucha Brothers vs. Jurassic Express
AEW TBS Women’s Final: Jade Cargill vs. Ruby Soho
Malakai Black vs. Brian Pillman Jr.
Outside of Malakai Black vs. Brian Pillman Jr. – which just strikes me as an odd choice, considering the amount of top-tier talent they have on their books – AEW is offering three different title bouts on their TBS debut.
I doubt very much that we’ll see any title changes outside of the TBS Women’s belt, but I fully expect all three matches to be highly competitive. For the AEW TBS Women’s Title, that’s had Jade Cargill’s name all over it ever since it was first announced, and even though I fully expect her to walk away with the gold, I have to admit I’m curious as to how they’re going to do that and keep Ruby Soho strong.
Elsewhere, I can’t imagine that Jurassic Express will dethrone The Lucha Bros. Penta and Fenix are one of the three hottest tag teams in the world right now – along with FTR and The Briscoe Brothers – and I don’t think that AEW would be crazy enough to put the belts on a wrestling dinosaur and a boy from the jungle, no matter how entertaining they are. And Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson will go to another draw. There’s no way around it.
Still – as I said – AEW Dynamite’s TBS debut is looking stacked to the rafters, and I fully expect them to put on a hell of a show.
