During a media call to promote this weekend’s NXT War Games, Triple H was asked about the possibility of the WWE working with other companies and it seems that they are more than happy to if it’s best for business.
The Man Of Three H’s said;
…are we open to the right business opportunities? Yeah, at any given time we’re open to things and it just depends on what they are, and if they’re beneficial to us longterm. And again, when I say longterm I’m not talking about 3 months or 6 months. Longterm… 10 years. You know… 10 years, 15 years from now. Is that beneficial? Is that meaningful? Is that longterm? That’s how we think.”
He added that they were;
…open for business. I think you hear Vince say that a lot. I’ve been around him a lot to know that if it’s the right thing, and it’s meaningful to business, he’s open to anything.”
Though this may seem like big news and could lead to a whole host of possibilities and dream matches, the fact that Triple H felt the need to remind everyone that the buck stops with Vince McMahon should throw a certain amount of water on any fire of optimism wrestling fans have.
We all know how set in his way the boss is and how, as far as he’s concerned, there is no other promotion that exists outside of the WWE, so I doubt very much that we’ll see any major moves on that front until he hands over the reins to Triple H and Stephanie, especially with Kevin Dunn in one ear and Bruce Pritchard in the other.
So it looks like I’m going to have to rely on video games to get my dream Okada vs. The Fiend match anytime before the sun burns out.
