Omar Amir Promises Pain, Blood and Regret!

Ohio Valley Wrestling Review—June 3rd

On this week’s Ohio Valley Wrestling, Omar Amir faces what he hopes to be the last Trial of Brutality as he faces three members of the Legacy of Brutality one after the other in a gauntlet match. If he wins, he will finally get his match with Cash Flo for the OVW Heavyweight title. He also gets to pick the stipulation for the match.

It’s an exciting situation, so let’s go straight to the ring and get straight into it!

The Big Match: Omar Amir Runs The Gauntlet!

After surviving the original Test of Brutality, Omar Amir thought he was going to finally get his rematch with OVW Heavyweight Champion Cash Flo. But Flo had other ideas, telling Omar last week that he would have to beat all three Legacy of Brutality members, Steve Michaels, Big Zo and Hy Zaya in one night to get the title shot.

Trust the Legacy of Brutality to not take any chances. Not only had they stacked the deck once more against Amir, but Amir was found partway through the show unconscious on the floor backstage after an unknown assailant had given him a battering. I say unknown; I’m sure I could hazard a few guesses…

Still, Amir made his way to the ring for the main event, his ribs and left arm wrapped up tight in tape. It should have been easy pickings for the Legacy of Brutality, but never underestimate Omar Amir’s hunger for the Heavyweight title.

Steve Michaels used his size advantage to bully Omar, squashing him in the corner several times so as to further hurt those ribs. But when he hoisted Omar up in a fireman’s carry, Amir was able to slip out and roll up the big man for the three count! One down, two to go.

Michaels left a leaving present, nailing Amir with a big clothesline before Big Zo took over, kicking and stomping Amir into near-oblivion. This time though, it was the splash in the corner attempt that led to error, Amir moving out of the way before also rolling Zo up for the 1-2-3.

Cash Flo, who was on commentary, was furious and led the entire LOB into the ring to give Omar Amir a beatdown. Luckily for Omar, Kal Herro, Star Rider, Brandon Tate and Luscious Lawrence all ran out to even the odds, both sides taking it to the outside in a wild brawl.

In the distraction, Hy Zaya snuck in and kicked Amir right in the back to start their match. Hy Zaya used his martial arts skills to dish out a series of quick, painful strikes but Amir blasted him with the Island Time spinebuster out of nowhere for the pin and to have won the Test of Brutality! Flo was in complete shock on the ramp, No more tricks: he will have to face Omar Amir for the title at the next Saturday Night Special.

Amir cut a fiery promo after, telling Flo that he had defeated every challenge put in front of him and that he will get his revenge when they face off…in a no-ropes chain match! Flo did not look happy about that. Omar finished off by saying, when Flo has his face ground into the chains, he wants him to think of every horrible thing he’s done to Amir and that Omir is promising him pain, blood and regret!

This was a massively entertaining segment overall and that was perhaps the best promo I’ve ever heard Omar Amir cut. A big thumbs up from me here, and I can’t wait for the chain match!

The Big Segment: Hollywood Haley J and Tony Bizo Are The Complete Package

On this week’s edition of The Good Word, the good reverend, Ronnie Roberts, was in fine form, mentioning how he was going to lay hands on all his opponents in the Kentucky Title Tournament until he walked away with the title. I am absolutely here for that, Ronnie. HA!

The good reverend’s guests this week were Tony Bizo and ‘Hollyhood’ Haley J. Ronnie wanted to know, after Haley’s betrayal of Luscious Lawrence last week, what was going on. Bizo made it clear: he is the best, Haley is the best and together they make the complete package. Haley made reference to Lawrence not holding any titles, despite the fact Tony Bizo doesn’t currently hold a title (maybe she’s confident in him claiming the Kentucky belt?)

Ronnie, being Ronnie-HA, asked a rather delicate question: would Tony consider Haley J to be Lawrence’s sloppy seconds? Haley was not pleased with that one, running Lawrence down for the world to hear. With all that in mind, you could only expect that the Luscious one was not going to be happy with all this.

Lawrence made his feelings known at the end of Bizo’s match with Garrison Creed, running out as Bizo kissed Hayley on the ring apron and giving the ‘Complete Package’ a complete leathering. Haley J jumped on Lawrence’s back, but the Luscious one backed her into the corner, where she was mere seconds from getting the juice in the face before Bizo pulled her out.

This isn’t about lost love anymore; this is now about respect and settling a score. Go on Lawrence!

Final Thoughts

This was a fun edition of OVW TV this week, featuring enjoyable matches between Dustin Jackson and Jake Omen, Dani Mo and Dream Girl Ellie and Omar Amir’s Test of Brutality, which saw the OVW locker room empty in support of Amir and fight back against the Legacy of Brutality. When you throw a furious Luscious Lawrence into the mix, looking for revenge against ‘Hollyhood’ Haley J and Tony Bizo, then you have one entertaining show on your hands.
