Lee Moriarty and Aramis Bring The Buzz to MLW

The third edition of the MLW 2021 Open Draft saw the reveal of Lee Moriarty and Aramis as the latest signings by the promotion. Both have been creating quite the buzz on the independent circuit in recent months, which certainly makes them both appealing signings.

Key information to take from this edition of the draft includes:

  • MLW will be returning to Dallas, Texas, for a TV taping on September 11th.
  • The Opera Cup will return this fall.
  • Alicia Atout will have some big information regarding the July 10th return to action next week.
  • Savio Vega and Zenshi are this week’s wrestlers returning to the roster.

But what about this week’s big new signings? Let’s take a look at what we know about them.

Now, this is a very interesting signing. Lee Moriarty has made some major strides on the independent scene over the last 12 months or so and has a major buzz behind him, one that is far from unjustified too.

Not only did he have major matches last year for the likes of GCW, Black Label Pro and Beyond Wrestling, but he proved to be the one to finally take the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship from long-standing champion Warhorse, before dropping the belt to Wheeler Yuta last month.

Being able to switch from Lucha to technical wrestling very easily, Moriarty is pretty much the definition of MLW’s favoured ‘hybrid wrestling’. This is a very shrewd signing in my opinion. Well done to all concerned.

Aramis

At only 22 years of age, Aramis has plenty of potential to become a big name for MLW. He has appeared for the likes of AAA, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, Warrior Wrestling and GCW (them again). He has also proved himself to be championship material, having held both the Rey del Aire Championship and Intercontinental Tag Team Championship in IWGP (International Wrestling Revolution Group). His explosive Lucha Libre skills will fit in well with the likes of Zenshi, Gringo Loco and Myron Reed on the roster. A less exciting singing than Moriarty perhaps, but no less a shrewd one.

What do you think about MLW’s signing of Lee Moriarty and Aramis? Let me know in the comments!
