Should Cody Be Facing Angelico ?

Scheduled For This Week’s Dynamite

I think most of us have gotten used to Cody taken on anyone and everyone when he had the TNT Championship. Should it come as a surprise that he is going to continue do that? Some of his fans want him to quit messing around with what they think is low tier talent.

Should Cody be facing Angelico on this week’s AEW Dynamite? That’s the question one fan posted on Twitter. Cody saw it because he was tagged in it and The American Nightmare replied to him.

The Tweets

In the now-deleted tweet, the user said:

Literally such a random match. I’m a huge @CodyRhodes fan but why?? TH2 randomly stopped feuding with the bucks?”

To which Cody shot back with:

I say this with the utmost respect. There’s a ring. It’s a wrestling show. And he’s a great wrestler. Guy who wins makes more money than the guy who loses. (And if you doubt that, ask yourself who makes more money…Chris Jericho or Fuego).”

But who’s right? Well, Cody, obviously.

Angelico

For anyone who’s familiar with any form of wrestling outside of WWE and AEW, you’ll know that Angelico is one of the best wrestlers to ever do the circuit. Wherever he’s gone he’s lit up rings and torn down houses while fans begged for more.

His time in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is the stuff of legend and his run with Lucha Underground is as great as anything you care to mention. If you don’t believe me then get over to YouTube and check out some of the action on there.

Gray’s Take On It

The problem here is that this is another case of an uneducated fan getting their a** all bunched up. They see one of their favorites going up against someone they have little to no prior knowledge of. Though I have zero time for Smark culture within wrestling, this is one moment that the person involved should have did a little research before making themselves look like an ill-informed jackass.

Do you agree with the fan? Should Cody be taking on Angelico? Or you agree with Cody? Either way, I bet it is a great match now that someone called them out. Let us know what you think below in the comments.
