Danhausen and CM Punk vs. Darby Allin and Sting?

Danhausen is currently the hottest free agent in pro-wrestling, even though he is out of action with a serious injury. Having been released by a struggling ROH – along with a myriad of other wrestlers – and then breaking his leg during an NGW event, you’d have thought that Danhausen would’ve struggled to keep himself in the public eye, but if you did then you certainly don’t understand the popularity of Danhausen. How popular is he? Well, even Jim Cornette is a fan and he’s not the only one.

Danhausen’s constant appearance at conventions – mobility scooter and all – has seen him annoy the hell out of MJF on a regular basis, be called out by current AEW World Champion Adam Page, and develop the strangest bromance in history with CM Punk. And it’s this friendship – along with the fact that people within AEW, such as Tony Khan and Chris Jericho, hold him in high esteem – that very well might see Danhausen join the company when he is fit and ready to go instead.

Danhausen talked about this in a recent Bleacher Report interview and laid out his very nice, very evil thoughts on the subject;

Danhausen could be CM Punk’s legend like how Darby has Sting. We could do that and give him some advice as to how to take the championship. Danhausen has a lot of good friends there. Orange Cassidy is one of them. The Dark Order seems pretty evil. Britt Baker seems to deal with teeth. Chris Judas, perhaps I can join. Santana and Ortiz are looking quite evil nowadays. There’s a whole list of people Danhausen loves at that company. We shall make enemies with them or make friends with them or whatever.”

First off, if you didn’t read that quote and find yourself laughing like an idiot, then Danhausen probably isn’t for you – and you really need to stop taking wrestling so seriously – and secondly, I would pay good money to see Danhausen and CM Punk take on Darby Allin and Sting.

If for no other reason than the idea of Sting and Danhausen doing the Tequila together is something I never knew I wanted until this very second.
