Bully Ray has had some words for the Cody detractors who we’re out in force after the Atlanta Street Fight between Cody Rhodes and Andrade on this week’s AEW Dynamite. As has been the case of late, Cody Rhodes found himself on the end of a lot of unwarranted hate from the IWC after he put himself through a flaming f*cking table for their entertainment. Many were quick to take to the internet and claim that Rhodes had botched the move entirely, but it seems that Bully Ray does not agree.
Talking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray had this to say;
Cody took the fire, Andrade took the move. Could I say, ‘Cody should’ve never went through the table? Cody should’ve been selling more through the fire and this, and this?’ Yep, I could sit here and do that all day. Who the f*ck cares? It looked cool. If Cody botched it, go get a table, go get some lighter fluid, light it on fire, film it in your backyard and do it better. ‘Cody botched it. Andrade botched it.’ What did they botch? Your mother botched you at birth.”
The former ECW, WWE, and TNA legend has never been one to mince his words, and even though I don’t always agree with what he has to say – as that’s the beauty of wrestling – he is absolutely spot on here.
What Cody Rhodes and Andrade gave the wrestling world this past week on AEW Dynamite was a work of art, and as someone who has been a huge fan of Hardcore and Deathmatch wrestling for longer than he cares to remember, it was one of the best matches in that genre that I’ve seen in a long time. Especially considering it was on a Prime Time Wrestling show. Yet, no matter what he tries, it seems a section of the fandom will never be satisfied. These people are – of course – idiots.
And besides, if Bully Ray – a man who knows a thing or two about going through goddamn tables – says that the move wasn’t botched, then you can bet your ass that the move wasn’t botched in the slightest possible way.
