NFL Winners and Losers: Week 13 Catch-Up

Hey everyone, this is Sam with Sports Obsessive. NFL Football fans, we know you can’t watch every game and that sometimes you have to rely on stats and highlights to catch up. We want to make sure you turn to us for all your NFL analysis. Let Sports Obsessive get you completely up to date, starting with a look at the action from the thirteenth week of games…

Playoffs Berths Handed Out

The first teams to clinch a playoff berth were New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs. The Pittsburgh Steelers can join them with a win next week.

NFL Winners

The Cleveland Browns’ Record: Cleveland had a great record of 9-3 and they have their first winning season since 2007. Most of their wins were over bad teams in close wins. In this game, they had the highest-scoring half in franchise history with 38 pts. QB Baker Mayfield threw 4 touchdowns in the first half.

Aaron Rodgers: No wonder he is going to be a Hall of Famer by throwing his 400th touchdown in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He reached the milestone 12 games faster than any of the previous six quarterbacks with 400+ touchdowns.

Taysom Hill: After rushing for four touchdowns in his first two starts, Taysom Hill finally threw his first career NFL touchdown. He threw 27-37 with 232 yds and 2 touchdowns with 83 rush yds. New Orleans have won nine straight and are 10-2 for the season. They expect to get Drew Brees back from injury next week.

NFL Losers

The Philadelphia Eagles: Philly gave Carson Wentz a contract with $108 million guaranteed. After another poor performance they had to bench him in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts. He nearly sparked a comeback and threw a beautiful pass for his first career TD.

Chargers special teams: In a 45-0 loss to the New England Patriots, L.A. missed one field goal. They had one blocked and returned for a touchdown. Then they allowed a 70-yard punt return touchdown. Not great.

The New York Jets: What do you say about them week after week? They were up four with 42 seconds left and the ball. The Jets brought an all-out blitz with 7 rushers leaving their defensive backs 1-on-1 down the field. But they still lost thanks to Derek Carr 46-yard bomb to Henry Ruggs. Now the Jets are 0-12.

Miami and Cincinnati Brawl: With two interceptions against the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami is the only team in the NFL to force a turnover in every game this season. But the story of the game was a brawl that involved Miami head coach Brian Flores. The altercation occurred after Cincinnati Bengals’ Mike Thomas made back-to-back late hits on punt returns. Five players were ejected.

Washington Ruins Pittsburgh’s Perfect Season

The black and gold Steel Curtain finally have an ‘L.’ Washington overcame a 14-point deficit last night. Then they outscored the Steelers 20-3 in the second half. I can’t believe Pittsburgh dropped seven passes. QB Alex Smith with a bloody ankle was unbelievable. He threw 31-46 with 296 yards and one touchdown. The Washington Football Team has now won three in a row.

San Francisco 49ers Doesn’t Play Well In Arizona Against The Buffalo Bills

In the second game on Monday Night Football, San Francisco had major issues with their county’s Covid-19 protocols. They had to play this week and again next week in Glendale, Arizona. Buffalo just blew away the 49ers with a great day from QB Josh Allen with 32-40 with 375 yards and four touchdowns.
