Bucks Week 11 Report

The Bucks start 2022 with some big highs and some areas of resolution.

Live the home of the reigning and defending NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks, it’s the What The Buck Is Up Report! Each week I will be sharing my thoughts about anything and everything Bucks-related as they look to defend their world championship status.

Milwaukee Bucks Results and Reactions

Bucks: 136 Pelicans: 113 (25-13)

Starting day one of the new year with a triple-double and veritable dunk package is quite a way to begin 2022. Giannis’ magnificent performance led the Bucks to open the new year with a convincing win. The Bucks were able to build their lead throughout the game behind the Freak’s resolute and impressive play.

-Jrue Holiday had an effective night as the number two option against his former team, burning the Pelicans for 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Holiday has raised his efficiency and overall game to an All-Star level in this recent stretch after slightly struggling after his return from injury.

-The win was Coach Budenholzer’s 400th career victory.

Bucks: 106 Pistons: 115 (25-14)

The Bucks have been dominant against their Eastern Conference Central Division opponents under Budenholzer, but the Pistons were able to beat the Bud-coached Bucks for the first time. The loss broke a winning streak for Milwaukee.

-Guard Donte DiVincenzo rolled his ankle before the contest and will be out for several weeks.

Bucks: 111 Raptors: 117 (25-16)

Even without Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks were able to score 77 first-half points, tied for their season-high mark. Despite the roaring start, the Bucks were unable to keep pace in the second half, as Pascal Siakim led the Raptors to a come-from-behind win.

-The Bucks were also without head coach Budenholzer, meaning that assistant coach Darvin Ham got the opportunity for his first head coach position. Ham is expected to become the head coach of his own franchise in the near future.

Bucks: 121 Nets: 109 (26-15)

Giannis made a triumphant return to the Bucks with a spectacular game against one of the Bucks major challengers. Bobby Portis also made an impact against the Nets scoring 25 points. The Bucks were able to outclass the Nets from three-point range, as Milwaukee shot 16-45 while Brooklyn shot a meager 6-27.

-After losing his first game as head coach, Ham was able to secure his first win over a very talented Nets team led by Steve Nash.

Bucks: 106 Hornets: 114 (26-16)

After the Bucks big win in Brooklyn, Milwaukee was unable to win on a back-to-back in Charlotte. The Hornets have been a stinger in the Bucks paw several times during the regular season and were once again. Despite a massive game from Giannis, the Bucks couldn’t overcome a second quarter in which they scored just 12 points. Milwaukee will look for revenge as the team’s matchup again on Monday night in Charlotte.

Milwaukee Bucks Stat-line Of The Week

No New Year hangover for the Greek Freak, who had a spectacular performance against the New Orleans Pelicans. Giannis, who won every Bestest Buck honor last year except one, begins 2022 with this weekly report’s highest honor. Antetokounmpo scored 35 points, brought down 16 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists for a triple-double. 2022 looks to be just as wonderful as 2021 was for Giannis and his Bucks.
