NFL: Week 14 Games Previews and Predictions

Sam breaks down the NFL Football games!

Hey everyone this is Sam and we need to breakdown the NFL Football games for you. First up is the 1:00pm game we are breaking down and picking Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Then for the 4:00pm game we are choosing Las Vegas at Indianapolis Colts. The 8:20pm Sunday Night game is Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers. Then the Monday Night Football game is Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns. Some of my co-workers got together to give you their takes on the games.

Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1:00pm, FOX)

Tom Brady and Tampa Bay (7-5) are coming off a bye week and it couldn’t have came at a better time. They have lost the last three out of four NFL games. These two haven’t played since 2017 when the Minnesota Vikings won. But the QB at the time, Jameis Winston threw three interceptions in that game. This season, Tom Brady has thrown seven interceptions in the last four games. Bruce Arians has been having him throw it more and more. Brady is on pace to throw about 632 times this season.

Minnesota (6-6), on the other hand, have won two straight. The issue is that they really didn’t look that great in either one of them. The Vikings right now sit in the final wild-card spot in the NFC. The Bucs are just a game ahead of Minnesota in the wild-card standings.

Predictions

KEITH: I like the Bucs off a bye at home. A lot of points could be scored in this game. Tom has always said the season starts after Thanksgiving. Coming off a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, I see the Bucs passing at will against a soft Vikings pass defence. Kirk Cousins and his weapons will keep this close, but I see Dalvin Cook struggling. All Kirk, all the time is never a good recipe for success.

Winner: Bucs 34-27

TOM: I see Tom Brady and the Bucs beating Minnesota in a convincing manner. The bye week should have provided the offense a chance to fix some of the miscommunication on routes between Brady and the receivers. I do not think Kirk Cousins and the Vikings offense have enough fire power to keep up with Tampa.

Winner: Bucs 34-24

CAEMERON: The Vikings may need a win to stay in the NFC playoff picture, but they won’t get one going up against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Defense will be the difference in this one, though Dalvin Cook will still probably manage to put together a reasonable stat line as Minnesota feeds him the ball. The bigger thing will be their inability to stop Tampa Bay from making big plans down the field. I predict four TDs for Brady.

Winner: Bucs 35-17

Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts (4:00, CBS)

Well, this could be a good NFL game since both teams have a shot at the playoffs. The big problem is both teams have looked pretty bad lately. Almost like they don’t want to go to the playoffs. Indianapolis (8-4) have came to this game after splitting their last two games. Las Vegas (7-5) have also split their last two NFL games. The issue I see is they barely beat the Jets…did you read that?…the JETS 31-28.

So this makes the Colts the #7 seed in the AFC playoffs, but the Raiders are only one game behind them. Both teams should be hungry to get a win and this should be an unbelievable game. Will it be? Who knows with these two teams?

Predictions

KEITH: I see Jon Gruden’s squad struggling this week. The Colts have a very good defence. With Josh Jacobs hurt and the offensive line struggling to run the ball, I think the Colts are able to get a few fast scores early. They can contain Derek Carr and company in the desert fairly easily.

Winner: Colts 27-17

TOM:  Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines will run rampant over the struggling Raiders defensive front Sunday afternoon. Derek Carr will throw a pick or two against a strong Colts defence.

Winner: Colts 28-14

CAEMERON: The Raiders have looked good at times this year, but it seems all too likely at this point that their first year in Vegas will end in disappointment. They can’t pull it off against the Colts on Sunday, as Indianapolis shows up to play on defense, shuts down their running game and intercepts Carr at least once.

Winner: Colts 24-6

Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers (8:20, NBC)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are no longer undefeated and most of my friends are unhappy. Having to go on the road to face the Buffalo Bills in December is NOT what most teams want to be doing. Last season, the Bills beat them in Pittsburgh 17-10. Their QB Devlin Hodges threw four interceptions. Again, not good.

The Washington Football Team shocked the NFL last week by beating the Steelers 23-17 when no one thought they could. Pittsburgh threw the ball over 50 times for the second week in a row. On the other hand, the Bills went out to Arizona and beat up on the 49ers 34-24. Josh Allen looked great throwing for 375 yards and four touchdowns in this NFL games.

Predictions

KEITH: I like Pittsburgh to bounce back in a lower scoring game. Until Josh Allen proves he can take down the big dog. I’ll take Big Ben and Mike Tomlin attacking the Bills through the air with their plethora of wide receivers. I don’t see many great fantasy stats for any one player in this one. I see a tough, solid, defensive type game. Perfect for Pittsburgh vs Bills in Buffalo in December.

Winner: Pittsburgh 23-20

TOM: If Buffalo can slow down TJ Watt and the Steelers’ pass rush, Allen should have enough time to see Beasley find soft spots in the middle. Cole is as good at they come at finding ways to move the chains. This week shouldn’t be any different. I see them winning a close one at home. This will take them to 10-3 on the year.

Winner: Buffalo 27-24

CAEMERON: The Steelers maybe have been looking past their game against the Washington Football Team to this date with the Bills, who have been impressive this season. That continues on Sunday night as Pittsburgh’s struggles continue. You can blame injuries if you want to and I don’t know if you’d be wrong.

Winner: Bills 31-28

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (Monday Night 8:15, ESPN)

Wow, what a year 2020 has been. This isn’t what the experts predicted before the season. They said this game would have playoff implications, but I think they thought it would be for Cleveland Browns to be trying to squeak in. However, that’s not even close. The Baltimore Ravens are currently out of the playoffs at 7-5. They have the second easiest schedule left with NFL games at the Browns, the Jaguars, Giants, at Bengals. They need to win to get past the Raiders.

Cleveland shocked everyone too, but by winning. They have their first chance for a double digits win season. The Browns have three NFL games left and the league’s second best running attack. They hold an one game lead over Miami and Indianapolis. I think this will tell us a lot about these two teams’ potentials the rest of the season to make a run.

Predictions

KEITH: I’ll take the Ravens in the Cleveland this week. Ravens won 38-6 last time they met back in week 1 but things are different now. The Ravens are two point road favourites. Cleveland are always dangerous home dogs. They are dangerous, but until the little brother takes down the big brother I’ll say the Ravens gut it out.

Winner: Baltimore 24-20

TOM: The Ravens will find a way to win this week in a closely contested matchup in Cleveland. The Browns 8th ranked rush defence will slow but not stop Lamar and Dobbins.

Winner: Baltimore 24-21

CAEMERON: As Browns fan I’m not sure if I’m allowed to predict that they will win over the Ravens on Monday night. That feels like just asking for a jinx and cuts against years of ingrained pessimism. But I’ve spent all year waiting for the Browns to blow it and have finally come around to believe that they won’t. Will they end up being the seven seed in the playoffs such that the end of their drought has an asterisk next to it? Probably, but I’m predicting they take out their nemesis in Baltimore before they turn around and lose to the Jets in a couple weeks.

Winner: Browns 28-17

Let’s hear your predictions for each football game. Who do you have and why? Let us know in comments. Can you beat our experts? See you down the road.
