Welcome to 25 Yards Later! This is Sports Obsessive’s fantasy football podcast! Hopefully your league scheduled its championship for Week 16. You already have your title in the bag. If not, we’re still here for you. We want to help you bring it all home.
Week 16 Championship vs Week 17 Championship?
A Week 17 championship is definitely not our preferred format. Nick especially hates them. He shares a rant detailing how the best team he ever assembled was cost the title in Week 17. You have to hear it!
Deep Dives On Six Teams
Multiple teams are expected to rest their starters for all or part of their games in Week 17. So we’re going to do things a little differently this week. We’re going to do deep-dives into 6 teams that are expected to play hard for their entire games: The Green Bay Packers (12-3), Chicago Bears (8-7), Indianapolis Colts (10-5), Dallas Cowboys (6-9), Tennessee Titans (10-5), and Miami Dolphins (10-5).
Each of these teams have a lot to play for: the Packers need to win to clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The rest are either in win-and-in scenarios or need to win and get help.
Questions
Once again, we have a lot of questions on our minds. How good has David Montgomery been? Do we think the Packers running game can get going against a stout Bears defense? What starting quarterback would Nick start John Wolford over? What do you do with crowded Colts and Cowboys receiving corps? What happens when you talk up the Miami Dolphins and then find out Ryan Fitzpatrick has Covid-19 before you put the episode up?
Nick’s Game and Touchback Player of the Week
Nick has a very specific game in which Allijah has to guess which running backs have had multiple games with more rushing yards than top-5 fantasy draft pick Ezekiel Elliott’s season high and as always, the Touchback Player of the Week. This honors the player with the most kickoffs that made their opponents start their next drive 25 yards later.
